Do you believe in SUKOB?

Do you believe in SUKOB?

Sukob, or what we call a Wedding Curse in English is based on the Filipino superstition that misfortune will come to a married couple and their family if the wedding is held within months of another family member’s death or if the wedding is held within the year of another sibling’s wedding.

I feel bad over this whole SUKOB thing. Whether we like it or not, sometimes these beliefs and superstitions do affect us.

I just got married 2 weeks ago and now, my husband's brother needed to get wed this year. Everybody says, NOOOOO It's Sukob.

I have been following the SUKOB belief and I can't easily divorce myself from believing it as well as other superstitions.

Yes, I am disheartened on why it has to be on the same year. BUT i will try my very best to turn the world around by changing my attitudes towards beliefs, traditions and superstitions.

I know that we have the power to do things we never dreamed possible. This power now becomes available to us just so we can change our beliefs.

I will let this go and I will trust more on to the LORD.
Let me work on my FAITH even more and even better.

I also believe in Sukob... ayaw lang, ask your bro-in-law to postpone their wedding.

Sukob is scary. I hope all will be well.

for me, it's ok if the sukob is bec you and your sibling will marry on the same yr. the prob is, if the sukob is bec of a death in the family (knock on wood). how would one survive this if she believes in sukob, prepared for the wedding in more then a yr then a tragedy will happen? consider all the down payments to the suppliers, more likely than not, are non-refundable.
i'm still searching online if sukob is really true. i just wish hindi na lang sya naimbento. =(

You believe in God as so you believe in marriage. And yet you believe in superstition? Choose one and get on with your life.

although im not sure if all these are true. but my brother got married 2 days prior to my wedding.all through out our marriage we had several challenges. Well I guess they're all part of marriage... but 7 years after, my husband died in a vehicular accident. reading all of your comments im trying to relate this to sukob. its still possible though that its just coincidence. it just got me thinking
