a pre nup teaser

My own version of my pre-nup teaser....

Let this be our destiny, to begin each new day together, to share our lives forever .

Wedding Invitation

Nothing beats the uniqueness of Binary Concoctions in Cebu for my wedding invitation.

I love their work. It's different from the traditional kind wedding invitation. It's customized and can be personalized as well. They are good in mixing and matching styles.

You know what's nice? They let you come up with a design that complements your personal taste and reflects the style of your wedding but they make the enhancement for you.

I like the owner, Mike. He is very friendly and accommodating and his talent is exceptional. I have seen all his display works and it gives you a headache to find which design truly the best. Everything is just beautiful.

The quality of work they have is worth every penny you spent for your invitation.
It is not sacrificed.

My fiance's hometown, Mainit Surigao

Gee.

I have been so busy lately.

work. wedding prep. work. december parties. work. trips.

Yeah, I had one special trip to my fiance's home town. Mainit, Surigao del Norte.

I pulled it up to the Surfing Capital last November 29 to to attend the wedding of my fiance's sis and at the same time meet his relatives for the first time.

It was a beautiful trip and everyone was extremely so nice to me. I thought of feeling nervous on what to expect from his whole clan but everyone was just so warm and pleasant.

I could say that I am lucky to have a wonderful in-laws in the future (with their wonderful clan).perfect. They were super accommodating to me and they made me feel like I am really their real daughter. Sweet.

I stayed overnight at my fiance's domicile in Mainit, Surigao and I was totally drawn o the place. It's amazingly clean, well.. compared to my municipality in Bohol and its very country feeling. It's aesthetically pleasant.

For a while, i love the countryside living in Mainit.

Mainit, Surigao is actually situated by Lake Mainit in the northeastern part of Mindanao. I wasn't able to get near to the Lake coz it was already dark when we made rounds along the area but i made a glimpse on it on our way back to Surigao City the next day. 'twas perfectly so serene and quite.
I love the serenity and the beauty of the surroundings.
I love the lonely dark road at night, it was even raining when we traversed! its like being in a twilight zone.
I love their tricycle, look! and if you want to make "pakyaw" on it, they call it "taxicyle" funny.

Oh, their Church was different. I mean, totally different from our towering and spacious churches here like Redemtorist Church or Sto Nino Church. Theirs is simple yet so intimate. I love where it was situated because it was like 15-20 steps away from my fiance's cave. :-)

Air, yes their air is cleaner than in the city and its fresher. I enjoyed it in the afternoon.

Mainit, Surigao has a simple life. For some, it is equated to boredom but for me it is a special place where everything that surrounded me (there) was wonderful.

Fact. There's no doubt i love big cities, but spending time in Mainit , Surigao del Norte totally changed my being a city girl.
-green couple-- see you again, Mainit. :-)

Simply and lustrously yours, JESSIE GLOVA

My wedding will be immortalized in photos for a lifetime, that I should look beautiful. Very beautiful. :-)

I have to admit, I don't really look good with colors on. I look trash with makeups and lipsticks. But since I will be the most photographed person on my wedding day, I have no choice but to look for the best make up artist in the city.

The list of make up artist in Cebu is overwhelming but seeking for the perfect one was easy for me. I fell in love with Jessie Glova's make -up artistry so suddenly. He can potentially do a natural look which can totally reveal your glamorous side.
I like his "less is more" make up philosophy. So simple yet so elegant to look at.
(see this photo from his portfolio)

I finally came to visit him and caught him in the middle of a makeup session. Wow, the value that Jessie places on personal beauty is very amazing. His beauty process is not about his fame(sshh he is well known in Cebu), imposing strong opinions and strict rules. But It is always about the woman sitting in front of him.

I like that observation on him. The lady he was putting colors on can freely say what she wants to do with her hair, her lashes etc.. The fact that he hears from us, his clients is so noble of him. Admirable.

He was whole-fully nice, friendly and very approachable on our first meeting and I can't wait to to have him on my wedding.

He showed me more of his portfolio and I am completely blown away of the fact that his touches met my criteria of being Light Responsive--meaning it looks so natural, so fabulous in photos. (see these photos from his portfolio)

Jessie Glova's talent is all about making you! simply and lustrously glow. It's more than make up artistry in its purest form. He is a “Light” in the industry of fashion and beauty in Cebu.

I am extremely proud to have him part of my dream team. Thank you, Jessie Glova.
You can visit his shop at Pacific Square, Mabolo. It's right before Castle Peak Hotel.

My so expressive wedding invitation

Conceptualizing your wedding invitation can be very exciting. It's not just a piece of colored embellished parchment that you send out to invite your friends and family on your wedding day.

Invitations speak for a lot of things. our personalities, our preferences, our outlook--- to our wedding.

Ours is an invitation full of expressions. It's a rose-themed invitation. With Red as the dominant color accentuated with gold.
Looks exactly like this but instead of green, we have it in gold. And instead of like a Gumamela flowers, we have Rose on it.

It's double fold with a pocket rose. Similar to this.

I am not very crafty so I will depend more on printing design and deal with printer mishaps. :-)

It will be worded most by me and personalize it with a lil note of gratitude. And you can use it as a bookmark.
And the message goes like this:

I inevitably went through a lot of potential designs before I found the one thats simply right.

I hope its worth. (wink)

Our Sponsor's Give-aways

For our sponsor's give-aways, we want it something special and meaningful.
After all, they would be like our second mom and dad. They'll be our guide, our mentor and our inspiration.
They 'll be the one to come to the padrone in times of need and learn from them.

We opted to buy a figurine that would remind them of how to maintain a beautiful affinity and how we would be like in the future. :-)

Sweet. Touching and Meaningful.

Wish we could stay as sweet as this forever.

Wedding give-aways for guests

Now, I am putting my feet up to our wedding give-aways or favors.
I have searched so many nice wedding favors but most of them are for decorative purposes only.

I want something that is not usually seen on display shelves, something usable, something unique but we don't want to spend so much bucks on it.

I and my fiance thought of a personalized TIN can where they can use it for keeping small stuffs. Simple but very usable.

We have it in red and gold color(wedding motif) with our names on it.
We'll gonna put some chocos and candies inside and after they can use the can.

We have purchased a lot of them already.

And we are gonna accentuate it with ribbon on top to look more presentable and admirable to the guests.

I hope they will like it. It's a little thoughtful thing for celebrating and sharing our wedding day.

I am a mom now

gosh. i have to admit i am eating my words. :-)
I am a mom now.

Meet Googster, the first member of our family.

I wasn't really a dog person infact I found it really so hard to give a polite smile to my sister's pets. dogs.

For me, the only good dog is a dead dog, but not until my fiance bought a Japanese Spitz puppy at home.

He makes us feel like we are family already.

My wedding cake

5 layered Carrot Walnut cake
with California Raisins

By: Bebong Cake and Pastries
Manduae, Cebu

My thoughts on wedding cake before was easy as saying, it is just there to make sight pleasurable.

But these days a wedding cake has become more than just a reception dessert. It is now something for the guests to gush over for both design and taste.

I started looking for a design that would go with my wedding theme. For me, there's no more beautiful way to decorate a wedding cake than with flowers. I found one perfect for my wedding.

Moreover, this wedding cake is extra special because of this marvelous couple from Texas and Canada

Jec-Jec and Ian.

"Your generosity is beyond measure. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
For being part of our wedding even if you are miles away.
I have learned much of life's philosophy from you both. Thank You, sincerely".

Re-printing my love letter

Dear Sweetheart,

Barely three months more to go, and we are vowed to walk to our journey through lifetime.
I am enjoying our preparation and I am getting giddy and excited everyday.

How time flies so swiftly but is it not joyous to see how great and growing is the treasure we have gathered together,— amid the challenges and stresses of so many eventful days?

I am truly happy we are still deeply in love, and will always. What it has been to me to live all these years in your heart and companionship; no phrases can convey.

You are more wonderful and admirable in my eyes than you ever were before; and my pride and joy and gratitude that you love me with such a perfect love are beyond all expression,

My heart continues to overflow with emotion and joy! I do not know what heavenly languor, what infinite pleasure permeates it and burns me up. It is as if I had never loved! You always concentrate my whole senses.

How beautiful life is to be loved by you. And this art will always be a picturesque in my heart. Remember, when I just freely draw this while waiting for our foods to be delivered. See how lousy my touches are. hahaha I love you sweetheart, always.

You will always be my Man. A man better than any other man.

P. S Don't forget our meeting with out Florist this Wednesday.

Maid of Honor dress

My maid of honor is my sister. My very conservative sister.

I had a hard time searching for her dress because she is very choosy, very arte and very strict when it comes to design and style.

Just to let you know, she hardly wears dress. She hates high heels. She dislikes make ups. She avoids bright colors. she never likes parties, affairs.

Though, she is not a bored, jaded lady Nor boyish kind or lesbian.

She only adores simplicity. She doesn't want complexity and discomfort in life especially to herself.

When I asked her to be my Maid of honor, i had to beg a million times to have her sweet "yes".
But with these conditions:

"please not backless, please not to short, please don't show my neck, please no ruffles, please not so many beads. Just plain and simple"

Waaaaaaah.conservatism kills.

But the angels above must have heard my pleas. I have found her dress and she likes it!
Immediately she went to my designer and have her measurement done.

Thanks God.

I'm a master :-)

For quite a while, i fell in love with school and this is what i got. A Masters Degree.

(Hurray)

It wasn't easy, by the way. I had to deal with never ending reports, sleepless nights of doing research, long hours of studying, boring books to read but I am overly glad, I am over it.

There were many reasons why I decided to have a Masters degree. It could be the next step of my academic path to enhance my career, giving me a competitive edge in the job market.

Or simply because i just want to be as knowledgeable as possible.

I am a Master. hehehe

Bridesmaid trendy gowns

My bridesmaids will look exactly like this.

Yep, with the headband on top.

You may wonder why the short dress?

Well, i just want to get away from the traditional long dress for my bridesmaids. Though, the tradition is still up until now.

But on my wedding day, I want my bridesmaids to weary a sassy, alluring short dress.

Why short dress? For so many reasons.

Practicality.
Since I want them to keep the dress, i might as well have it in a casual style where they can re-wear it on other occasions like proms, parties and intimate dinners. A kind of dress that would flatter their figure and would love to wear it again.

Size
You know most of my bridesmaids are cute and petite. For fashion tricks, A short dress will help their legs appear longer..

Their hair will be neatly tied up to show off their neck, and the figure looks elongated. Anything bulky around the neck will make you look shorter.

Budget
It won't eat up so much fabric. Meaning, reasonable price. (hmm just reasonable, i can't just say cheap, hehe)

Difference
I just want them to see my bridesmaids in a trendy style that would have them look attractive and stunning. Way different from the traditional type.

All of my entourage will be wearing a designer gown by Harley Ruedas.

Wedding gown sketch

Here's a closer look of my wedding gown sketches.
Jonas, one of the in-house designers of Harley Ruedas made it really perfect.

Wedding gown sketches are important, I realized.
It actually speeds up your visual problem. It serves as a communication tool on how you want your gown to look like. When i was searching for my wedding gown, I was so confused as to whats really best for me. There were just sooo many to consider, and so many to choose from.

Making your own wedding gown sketch is a great help because it expresses your own preference, your own visual honesty.

I love the evolution of wedding gown sketching. From a sketch in a notebook to a work of art on a real canvas, the creative process is exciting.

Start Sketching your dream wedding gown now. :-)

My wedding gown

My wedding is all bout the "wow" factor for both me and my fiance. hahaha
Which could also mean "whoa" for my designer. ..right?

Gee, I have found the perfect gown for me, guys. Well, may not be with you, but for me and my fiance, its perfect! WOW.

I forgo the restrictive crinolines, ruffles, and super thick satins. I want a relatively weightless style and emulate simplicity.

My gown is not a princess type of gown but it has a magical quality meant to only use it on my wedding day.

It's really different. I want it even in champagne or off-white color. Perfect for my red and gold motif.

Here's my wedding gown. The gown of my dreams.

Harley Ruedas-a haven of bride's wedding gown.

Wedding gown is one of the highlights of a wedding occasion. And it would be a big treat for me to wear a designer gown.
I thank my fiance for this big time TREAT. :-)

Last Saturday, we have found my wedding gown creator in the name of Harley Ruedas. With word-of-mouth recommendations by satisfied customers and promotions in various bridal shows and wedding magazine, I was convinced that he will be part of my dream team.

Harley won himself the reputation of being one of the best creators of modern wedding. He is only not known for his wedding dresses but he has also gained much acknowledgment for every evening-wear.

He is a well-known Cebu designer and has been in the business for more than a decade.

I and my fiance had our contract signing with him last Saturday and i was so impressed on how they accommodated us. In Harley Ruedas, you both have the designers born and made up. They are group of creative bunch who have a profound experience on creativity and style. They are very systematic and very professional.

It really helps when you bring in all your ideas, pictures and samples of what gown you want. Then you both discuss your body type and the way you want to look on your wedding. And the thing that I really like most is, they work on your budget.

Yep, they do. Just tell them how much is your budget for your wedding gown and behold!...

Most of the Cebu designers now, priced their wedding gowns starting from P30k to 50k. If you have a very intricated design, for sure you'll go as high as 50k.
In Harley Ruedas, they work on your budget which is really a good thing.

Jonas, one of Harley's in-house designers, started to sketch my wedding gown and it looks so so good and lovely. So romantic for a valentines wedding. Haay, im just really so excited. Here's a glimpse.

I realized that not all beautiful gowns turn out to be the best fit for you. And this is where the designers communicate their vision of loveliness for you.

My choice of designer depicts on my dressing sense and I was happy to find Harley who is a haven of bride's wedding gown.

My fiance wants me to wear this

This is the gown that my fiance wants me to wear on my wedding day.
Hmm, what do you think?

Yes, it's a beautiful gown but I am not blown away.
Because..because..because it looks expensive!!! hahaha

Honestly, I don't want to overspend on my wedding gown and make it useless after my wedding.

Sorry, I am just being reasonable and practical, Sweetheart.
Let's just dream together of me wearing that gown.. har har har

Wedding Gown Search

I want to be productive today on my wedding assignment.
"Start looking for your wedding gown now" my wedding planner instructed " Pls come up with a design"
"Okay, exciting"

I started searching online as to what would be the best gown for me. I realized how overwhelming the feeling is as you lurk from gown to another.

Haay, with so many beautiful ones.. i don't know what's perfect for me.

But I want a gown that would hide my stupid fats and would accentuate my best features. hehehe I want it simple with no overflowing beads, sashes and folds. I don't want to be a walking wedding decor noh.

One thing I know, an A-line gown would look good on me. It would hug my waist and hide flaws above my waistline.

I am not fond of Grecian gowns nor the Renaissance ones. I want the modern and sophisticated styles. Best, if it would suit my personality, would make me feell confident and comfortable wearing it. And most importantly it would meet my budget.

Here are some that I fell in love with.
1.
I love this Satin gown with sweetheart neckline.
The bead- encrusted empire bodice with satin bow is just so elegant to look at.

2.

I love the designs of Maggie Sottero. And if you are reading this Maggie, Can I wear this creation of yours? :-)

Even with this laces on, i still love the closure and V-neckline with illusion lace shoulder straps.

The natural waistline is accented with a coordinating sash which is perfect!

3.

Clap.Clap.Clap.
Beautiful one, Maggie!
I love the simplicity. The attraction is
the stunning beaded embellishments
wrapping across the natural waist.

Elegance is mine.

4.

This is soo adorable! The laces are so captivating that adorns the dropped waist and encircles the hem of the tulle, circular skirt.

I am amazed. Now, I am
muddle-headed with these beautiful wedding gowns.

C'mon help me find the one.

Too blessed to be stressed.

September is a super busy month for me and I don't know if I like this "busyness".
I am like chasing after so many things, and its compelling me towards my goals.

Grabe, my plate is so full that I tend to put things off until the last minute. Meaning..I am working under pressure and on a tight deadline. I am very very busy but I realized I AM TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED.

I am getting married, I am always flying, I am working, I am schooling, I am having a blast.

Most of all, I am happy.

Oops, it's about time to look for my wedding gown.

Can you all help me? If you find a good one, email it to me or give me the link.

:-)

I would have wanted to get hitched todayy, which happens to be birthday also.

But the proposal came in late..taheee. Seriously, I simply want to get the feel of 888 phenomenon.

Yet, I realized, that my birthday is symbolic and my wedding is special. Can't mixed.

Anywayz, I just want to thank everyone for the birthday greetings.

It's the quietest birthday I have. No sparks, no celebration, no sounds. nothing. But I choose it this way.

It's different.

I look forward to enjoying friendship with you for many more of my birthdays.

Salamat.

wedding comparison

Wedding nowadays are getting more elaborated and glamorous. While checking some wedding ideas and items, I am completely amazed on how expensive are the tiny stuffs for wedding.

But you know, the earth is revolving. Yesterday is no longer the same day as today. The weddings before are totally different from the weddings now. Today, it's more organized, detail-oriented, sophisticated and creative.

Just like wedding gowns. Before, bride wears long sleeved white gown, with a long cathedral veil to cover their face and the entire body. The bride must be fully wrapped up to be presented to the groom.

Now, You have a variety of stylish wedding gowns to choose. Be it strapless, backless or off-shoulder with matching colored belt to emphasize your hips and a blusher veil to cover the bride's face. It's totally different now. You are "baduy" if you won't wear these kind of gowns.

I can understand the changes, especially that we are on the modern days where technologies are getting popular and wonderful. Wedding myths and superstitions are no longer tolerated and practicality is being considered.

While going through the process of my wedding preparations, I have listed here all the things I need to work on and include them on my wedding time-line. I am sharing this for your guide.

1. Wedding Date, Reception and Church
2. Attire (this includes, wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the couple dresses, bridal shoes etc..)
3. Fashion & Beauty (wedding hairstyles, which includes, the wedding hair pins and clips etc)
4. Favors and Decorations (wedding giveaways, wedding decorations, wedding supplies
5. Flowers ( wedding flowers, wedding bouquets, wedding centerpieces, local florists
6. Honeymoon ( hotels, resorts, Flight schedules)
7. Invitation and Stationary (wedding invitations, wedding programs, thank you cards, table cards or place cards)

9. Music and Entertainment ( ceremony, reception, bands, hosts)
10. Photography and Videography ( wedding photographers, videographers, pre nuptial pictures

12. Transportation (bridal car, transportation for the guests and the entourage)

Note: I haven't done all of those. I am only day dreaming of them sometimes. See my excitement?

Wedding News Flash

Yey! We finally had our contract Signing with Waterfront Hotel (for our reception). And we had our Church booked as well.

At last, everything is on the right place now. (grinning)

But I am letting you know that with the recent progress on our preparation, this forced us to change our wedding date for the third time!!! goodness!!--- to accommodate both our Church and reception.

Finally, we have them both free on January 31, 2009. Golly, I hope this would be the last.
I think it is.

January 31, 2009, that day I will do MY WALK.

Do you believe in Miracle?

Do you believe in Miracle? I do.
I have this video in my cellphone shared to me by sister.
This is Our Lady in Simala (Sibonga, Cebu) who is known t be very miraculous. This happened last June 13,2009. Just 2 months ago.

I got goose-skinned when I watched this. I love the scene of the Holy Child visiting his dearest Mother. This was taken by a first-time visitor of the place who wants to get souvenirs shots and videos by our Holy Mother. (Well, everyone does get a picture of Mama Mary whenever they are there) I myself, do that also. This time, the one who took the video amazingly discovered something.. watched Sto. Nino passed by. :-)

Many have a lot of speculations that this was edited and photo shopped but this all boils down to your FAITH.
It is an invisible, and invincible magnet that attracts to itself whatever it fervently desires and calmly and persistently expects.

I am a certified visitor of our Lady in Simala. It's a different feeling when you get there. Even when you know that your heart is grieving, seeing her is a blessed delight.

Keep your faith in all the beautiful things such as this. Miracles sometimes save us.

The Bridesmaid gown design

By the way, this will be the design of the gown that I will be wearing next week for my family friend's wedding. Of course, YOURS TRULY, the bridesmaid again.

Their motif is "leaf green"

I think its always nice to come up with a design first of your gown, so you would know what style you really want and your seamstress would have a clear picture of what your gown will be.

Also, the seamstress would help you get an honest opinion about the kind of design which would suit you and flatter your stature, body and complexion.
