Impressions on getting married

Now, that the news of me getting married is spreading like virus. I get different reactions from different corners. I find some very amusing and others annoying.

"Wow, I am happy for you" But wait for a minute or two, there's "something behind that statement"

"Are you PREGNANT?" That's it! That's it.

Funny. But when you heard it numerous time, its annoying. Why?, can't I be capable of availing a decent reasons? Like we're getting married because we feel that its about time to build our own family. I want our 4 yr old relationship to level up and share a life together.

FYI, I am not pregnant, peeps. In the future, FOR SURE.

And to continue, "So when is your wedding day? "Early next year on February 21.

" Wow, thats a long preparation? Wow, that's gonna be a POSH wedding!"

My golly..

FYI again, it takes time to prepare and save. It's more on saving, bitch. So, don't expect the sort of wedding of the year. har har har

Maka-ulbo og kaspa ang impressions sometimes.

February 21, 2009

Wedding Stresses...I am beginning to feel it but my fiance always remind me not to entertain and just shrugged it off.

Enjoy the ride towards our wedding. Yeah Right.

"He is always my bright light, Thanks sweetheart"

We are changing our date. Ooops, don't fret and freak! Really nothing..... except for some Church reasons.

I don't want to write the long tale here but our date is no longer available.

So from February 28, 2009, we are moving it to an earlier date, February 21, 2009 at Sacred Heart Church. So, it's still Sacred Heart. :-)

Change change change your calendar, and highlight Feb 21, 2009.

Let me forget my Numerology and Astrology this time. I don't know whats with 21. I still believe next year is a great year to get married. k?

My Advice:
Setting a wedding date is very important. It may seem the easiest part of wedding planning but it's absolutely not. It takes a lot of consideration and consultation from everyone involved.

If you have it in mind, immediately call the different churches to inquire if your wedding date is still available. It is better to set it up early to ensure the availability of the time and date of choice.

Secondly, always have a back-up date.

Some Factors to consider while choosing your wedding date.
1. People's schedules
2. Culture and Superstition
3. Weather
4. Budget

Wedding theme

Pardon me for turning this blog into a wedding kind blog. I am just too excited to share to you my plans, my realizations and my discoveries on preparing a wedding.

Another common advised: Choose a theme for your wedding
Another common question: What is your theme?

Alright, guys. I really thought that wedding is just all about the bride's walking n the aisle, the ceremony, the reception, the typical slicing of the cake, the money dance.

Nowadays, wedding is more enhanced. You should come up with a theme for your wedding to be different and unique.

Okay. Fine. So I have to....

Of course I don't want a Disney kind wedding, where I need to incorporate all Disney characters. Seeing Minnie and Mickey on top of the cake, a castle for where Sho and I sit during the reception. NO, NO it's not a baby birthday. Have mercy, pls.

What about a Christmas themed tropical wedding? Oh, no no First, our wedding is on February and not December. Secondly, we are not in Hawaii, we are in Cebu. And for chrissake, I have no plans to say my vow in front of the beach even if the say that its so lovely to have bright sunshine blazez on me, or the warm sea breeze touches my skin. I really don't care about that sunshine and sea breeze.

I want a classy and memorable wedding celebration. Comfortable for me and Sho and to the people attending our wedding.

Let me think......, since it's February. I want a Valentine date with my guests. Sounds O.A but well its far better that the Disney characters or the sea breezes--

I want my wedding to look intimate, lovely and passionate. My thoughts should of course be focus on our budget but I think what really gets my juices revved up for this exciting event is the style, decors and the theme.

And so I say, I want a Valentine themed wedding. I want to see the hearts and roses around. Plus the candles to spice up.

Here are some wedding themes I came across with:
1. The formal wedding - this is the typical and ordinary kind
2. The casual wedding
3. The Hollywood Glamour Wedding- (over napud ni)
4. A christmas wedding
5. The natural wedding ( this is if you love nature and you have plans preserving our trees, environment) I don't have plans jud.
6. The Sports wedding ( I can't imagine me, holding a basketball ball than a bouquet) Bahala..
7. A Victorian Wedding (for those who love laces and velvet)
8. A Sophisticated Art Wedding ( where you will have a reception in an art gallery)
9. A Beach Wedding
10. A Summer wedding
11. The Whimsical wedding (my god, this will be over our imagination)

But it's true and I just realized that Yes, it is nice that you come up with your won wedding theme. Because it will be so easy to plan the details.

This will save both time and money because you need not buy other things just to experiment and try it out.

Focus on the theme and you will know exactly what you need and want.
But remember Wedding is more than that, It's a start of togetherness... of walks in the rain, basking in the sunshine, shared meals, caring for one another and sensing the love that a marriage carries.

Reception Choice

We were advised that we need these 3 things settled as early as now. Wedding date, Wedding Church and Wedding reception..the tiny others can be done later-- when we are nearing our wedding date.

Choosing a reception can be that tiring but a whole lot of fun..We were driving around the city last weekend and visited several hotels.

We came up with different choices, yes its true that the ceremony is the most important part of the wedding, however the reception is often longest part of the day because its where everyone parties and rejoices in the lifetime decision we've made.

More to that, it will be accessible and convenient to our guests. Spacious to party around and Beautiful enough to be remembered.

(I am giving you a copy of the packages we got in case you have plans to get wed here in Cebu)

First stop: CEBU WATERFRONT HOTEL
Wow. Spacious. Elegant. Expensive.

They have different packages. It's either buffet or a sit down family style.
Of course, Pinoy loves buffet, so we have to settle for a buffet style. It's a little bit expensive compare to the family style.

Amethyst P850.00 per person
Pearl P900.00 per person
Ruby P980.00 per person

One gift certificate for an overnight stay for two on the first wedding anniversary (room only)--But you can avail this on the day of your wedding. One gift certificate for two at La Gondola or Mizu worth P1,000k. Bridal car for a maximum use of 2 hours. Floral centerpieces for guest tables. Place cards for the presidential table. Guest book. One bottle of sparkling wine for toasting. Public address (PA) system. Use of the venue for a maximum of (6) hours. Optional. One wedding bell with a pair of doves.

*** If you plan to get wed next year, you better book the hotel this year to avoid their price increase starting next year.

Second Stop: CEBU MARRIOTT HOTEL
One wing is under renovation and will be done this December.
Beautiful. Elegant. VERY EXPENSIVE

( I will post their package later, I left it in my fiance's car)

Third Stop: Casino Espanol
Hot. Looks Old. Spanish Style. VERY delicious food. A lil Cheap.

( I will post their package later)

Fourth Stop. Park Lane Hotel
Limited Space. Simple yet Elegant. But we heard, their food is not really nice.

With all the computations and argumentation as to where we can possibly save and at the same time, convenient for our guests. We are choosing, CEBU WATERFRONT HOTEL for our reception.

We will have the contract signing this coming weekend. I hope everything goes well.

A Fab Job

Now that I am getting married, I realized how fab is the job of a wedding planner is.
It's a kind of job where you use your talent and creativity to plan the happiest and most memorable day of people's lives.

Wedding planning is so exciting. The job is fun, interesting and rewarding. Well of course, you go through different stages of stresses but the freedom of letting your artistic mind works is fascinating.

I and Sho have interviewed a couple of wedding planners. Some were gays and some of them were decent ladies with interior designing as their background.

My problem with gays is they tend to over-do everything. Yes they are so creative but I am afraid they will overload my wedding with so many colors, so many blahs, (even on rainbows).

Thanks to Ian, who introduced me to his wedding planner-friend named Sharon together with her partner Scorlz. We had dinner at Oh Georg and talked about my wedding plans and instantly I like them.

They are confident and they exactly know what I want. They are very pleasant and we bond like we have known each other for so long already.
It's very important that you trust and you have an easy feeling on your wedding planner. They must have a level of experience or training.

With Sharon and Scrolz, who are both interior designers, I am impressed with the value and professionalism they've shown and the way their ideas rolled.

We are a perfect match.. and We mean business with them.

We are meeting them again for their presentation and then contract signing. I will let you know how are they performing and I can make a personal note about them.

Valentine Wedding

Many have been asking me about my motif for my wedding. Hmm, what? I think i have a colorful life, that I can't exactly choose as to what color I want to dominate on my wedding day.

I love pink. It has been my favorite color since kindergarten. It's very feminine and very pleasant. It was also Lottie and Jackson's color on their wedding day. 'twas lovely!

But lately, i have been dreaming of being a red hot bride. like a Valentina bride hahaha I guess its because i need to match it with February.

A Valentine theme Wedding would be perfect.

I am thinking of Rose Red. It's elegant, feminine , bold, dramatic and seductive. It's going away from the old school glamour. It's different. Maybe i'll mix it up with silver or champagne color. hmm

Wow, I am imagining it. Elegance...Extravagance...exuberance. The color is just so irresistible. I wanna welcome the coming year with Red.

I think everybody's going wild with my red wedding. :-)

Cheers from friends

I had dinner with my barkada from College the other night. Almost everybody was in the city so we thought of gathering and do some catching up.

The preggy, the married, the atty were absent but it was still a lot of fun.

We had dinner at The Walk and celebrated friendship, good time and partnership that night. More than that it was a celebration of happiness for the newly engaged friend. (Merci, guys!)

We also celebrated the second release of Jimmy's Album titled BY MY SIDE.
Please do get a copy, available in all record bars. It's really worth your money. His songs were all original and his voice continues to amaze me. Still, the Star in a Million Finalist, The Silver Medal Winner of Shanghai Music Festival, Viva Artist, simply the singer himself.

Everybody is blogging about it. Philippine Star, Online Filipino Resource, ABS-CBN etcc.
It's produced by by Christian de Walden of Hollywood, the all-original CD is a brilliant showcase for Jimmy’s incredible voice. Beautiful!

It was really a gay night..never ending laughs, green jokes, funny mimics, it was fun fun fun!
I will always treasure old friends, even if I make new ones. There's no security quite as comfortable as the kind you feel among old friends.

Jimmy Marquez will serenade me on my wedding day. Of course, no talent fee. What are barkadas are for? He will be there. My god, i just have to make sure all eyes are on me and not on him. :-)

Our wedding date

We started planning last Saturday at Starbucks and our first task was to choose our wedding date.

It wasn't so easy, you know. We came up with tons of date. Strictly debating each because there are so many important considerations. Weather condition, travel availability, people's availability, and even astrology! haha

My fiance doesn't believe though what stars and moon mean on that day or what the planet will have to say on those numbers. But Astrology really fascinates me. I really don't know why but astrological wisdom really interests me. I am really funny.

Anyway, I just want a date that is easy going where the planets move around the sky and zing areas that are sensitive "just for me". Where everyone seems in an easy mood. I just want everyone to enjoy on my wedding day.

My fiance wants it this December but I beg off because its too early and everyone is busy on holidays. "Okay, sweetheart lets have it early next year, what about January".

Again, I argued back. "No not on January. It's Sinulog and everybody is on that festivity. Hotels are fully booked and traffic is heavy".
"Ok, Sweet. What about February?" Well, yeah, February is nice and its a love month!
Ok, Feb. So let's have it on Feb 14 because its Saturday and it seems perfect.

I paused. "No No Not on Feb 14. Everybody is dating that day and everybody is in the mood of making love. No No. They rather be in bed than in our wedding". hahaha

Ok. What about Feb 15 where we have our first monthsary hahaha. "Oh NO, its' Monday. Everybody is working darling".

After so many interrogations and arguments. We finally chose a date where Venus (goddess of love) is at her best and finally relaxing. The last day of the month.
February 28, 2009-- Perfect. Ordinary. Fine. Significant.
February - the love month
28- is my birth date, where 8 is my lucky number
2009 - a year of serenity. a year with lots of love, money, graces, and sex.(they say!)

So please reserved FEBRUARY 28, 2009 for us. See you all. :-)

I just got engaged.

My boyfriend finally took the plunge of proposing to me. Well, it was a proposal that I will always remember and will eagerly re-tell to everyone.

It happened in an islet where everything seems so romantic and lovely. It was paradise.
The white sand, The beach, The waves, The RING! I was pleasantly surprise. Yes it was an engagement ring, a heart-shaped diamond ring! I was hooked. I said YES. ;-)

Yes, everyone. I am engaged and there's no BETTER feeling than being engaged. I am savoring it because it will be BITTER when I get married. hahaha kidding.

I really cried. I was so sappy. The element of surprise was just too much to bear.
We then kissed and hugged. Oh, I just love this man dearly. Our almost four years of being together is really a joy.

We love because its the only TRUE adventure for us.

Unveiling the new Sweethearts

There are some emotions that doesn't make a lot of noises. Just like true love, its so quite that you don't even know its there already. Right, yan and jec?

This new sweethearts taught me how to blend work and yahoo messenger together. :-) We are so fond of exchanging words even if we are from the different sides of the world.
From Canada - connecting to Texas - connecting to Philippines.

But this in-love couple are significant to me, because they remind me of my once freshly baked love with my soon to be hubby.

It's exciting,inspiring and novel.

It is such a blessing to see them both get on living and loving. I am really glad they found each other. Thank you dearest sis and Ian for being the first to celebrate the good news. Thank you for the warm wishes. You are both special.

Remember that Love, whether newly born, or aroused from a deathlike slumber, must always create sunshine, filling the heart so full of radiance, this it overflows upon the outward world. Keep Loving.

I am back to blogging again.

I haven't been blogging lately because I was over-committed. I got a lot of things going on. School. Work. Classes. Projects. Reports. Meetings. Love-life.

FYI: I will always blog no matter what. I have been blogging for 5 years now. In fact have dumped my first blog and now renovate my second blog. I think I don't have a "good until" stamp. I am simply having this course. Stop. Blog. Stop again. Blog again. Finding a sense of renewal, and then depression again. It's just a great typical blog experience.

AND NOW. I have my temperament back.
I am back to blogosphere.

Many things happened from my 2 months of being away, and now I have some good news to tell you.

I got engaged. And I am getting married. Yey!

The planning begins and I want to update you with every details of my wedding preparation.

Wish me luck. And thank you guys.
